Barbara J. Scripps, CPA

As president of Scripps, Taylor & Associates, P.C., Barbara offers over thirty years experience. Prior to launching her own firm, she spent nine years with the "Big 4" firm of KPMG, providing tax and business planning, tax return preparation and accounting services for small to medium-sized businesses. She later worked for one of the 25 largest CPA firms in Denver, where she gained additional comprehensive experience in these areas. She has served as controller for several start-up businesses. Since opening her firm in Evergreen in 1992, Barbara has expanded her staff to include seven full and part-time employees. In January, 2007, she brought long-time employee, Cathy Taylor, in as a shareholder. Barbara graduated cum laude from the University of Colorado and has completed graduate work at Denver University's Master of Taxation program. She strongly believes in giving back to her community, therefore she is a member of the Evergreen Rotary Club and she serves or has served on the board of directors of various not-for-profit organizations in Evergreen, including Mt. Evans Hospice and Home Health Care, Center for the Arts -Evergreen, Evergreen Country Day School and the Evergreen Chamber of Commerce. Barb is married and has 3 children.

Cathy S. Taylor, CPA

A strong banking background and a keen eye for detail have earned Cathy a respected position with Scripps, Taylor & Associates. Prior to joining the firm in 1998, Cathy held several positions with Key Trust Company in Seattle, Washington. She is a graduate of both Eastern Montana College, with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, and the University of Colorado, with a Masters of Science in Accounting. Cathy is also an Enrolled Agent. In January, 2007 Cathy became a shareholder in Scripps, Taylor & Associates. As a member of the ST&A team, Cathy focuses on accounting system consulting, installation and income tax consulting and preparation. Outside the office, Cathy is active in the Conifer Rotary and the Evergreen Lutheran Church. Cathy is married and has 2 children.
